Last week we released our pilot Terrible 2 Minute Review, and our desire is to publish a new review every Friday! We hope to amass a huge collection of concise and helpful reviews for the community, because we want Tantrum House to be the place people go to when they need quick information on a game.

And if 2 minutes ain't quick enough for ya, then let me introduce you to our Game Facts bar:

This puppy will accompany all of our video reviews in the future, so that at a glance you can tell everything (well..almost everything) you need to know about a game.

Check out the infographic for an explanation of the bar. And let us know in the comments below if we left anything out. Your feedback will help us make it all the more awesome.

I really like the infographics! They give a quick glimpse of the game and look great too!
Here are some recommendations to consider....
- luck vs strategy percentage would be cool. Many gamers talk about this when discussing the types of game being played
- also any awards the game has won gives it credibility.....OR maybe a Ribbon, trophy, or medal showing that it has won awards
- not sure how important set-up time is....i know there is a difference between FLUXX and Agricola, but do most eurogames have vastly different setup times??

Kevin,
I love the luck vs. strategy comment! We will definitely figure out a way to add that to the bar!
Now I just need a way to measure that... Anybody interested in forming an advisory panel for Tantrum House?? ;)

The advisory panel idea would be cool! maybe a 4-leaf clover for luck and a brain for strategy or something like that....I'm sure you'll come up with a bright idea

I really like the Game Facts Bar! I do have one question, though, for the rating of the game setup, is a one good or bad? I noticed that Hanabi is a one and Settlers of Catan is an eight but I have not played either game so I have no reference to the rating. ;) Thanks!

Heidi,
Good question. That number is actually intended to show many minutes it takes to setup the game. Hanabi you can pretty much pull right out of the box and its ready to play. Settlers takes a while in order to setup all the tiles, hand out the cards, etc. Maybe we should add "min." after the number?

Love the infographic, especially that you put the set up time. Most games you can tell by looking at, but it is handy to know if it takes 15 minutes to set up (Rampage, I'm looking at you...)

I've seen "luck" and "strategy" rated via stars/circles on boxes before (thinking Kosmos...their two players like Kahuna and Lost Cities have those). It is kind of hard to combine the theme and enjoyability of a game. I say this because some games are enjoyable, but don't incorporate the theme well. Others do both very well, etc..
All in all, I love the clean, easy to use look of it! Big, big thumbs up! Oh, but one idea. What about "Coop"/"Comp" symbols? That way people know from browsing whether it is competitive or cooperative?

Cheers!
Carrie
